About Women's Ministry
The ministry focuses primarily on growing in God's word and building a more intimate relationship with Jesus through Bible Study. In addition to Bible Study, events are held throughout the year to introduce others to the ministry and to build fellowship among the women of Antioch. Service projects are also an important component of the ministry. In addition to these activities, there are several "Girls' Night Out" activities sprinkled throughout the year to build fellowship and friendships among the church.
As women at Antioch, we strive to be Titus 2 Women…
"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they will train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:3-5
Women’s Ministry News Girlfriends: Doing Life Side-by-Side
The Best Girlfriends – Mothers and Daughters!
This evening, my grown daughter called to ask for some cooking advice. She wanted to know how long to boil eggs for a hard-boil. Now, before you think ‘duh!’ – let me say that I remember being a young wife learning to cook, and calling my Mom to ask how long it took to make baked potatoes. She could have said “Duh! Until you poke them and they’re done!” But she didn’t! She patiently told me they took about an hour. (Yes, this was before microwaves!)
I have a pretty good relationship with my two daughters. They are pretty good girls, and we get along well. We talk often, and with today’s technology, we can text and email as well. It makes me feel good when they call and ask my advice – even over silly things like hard-boiled eggs!
Aren’t Moms just the Best Girlfriends ever? My own mother passed away in 2005, and I miss her so much! We had a good relationship, and she was a wonderful mentor to me. But I know that we were girlfriends as well as mother-daughter. I pray that you have experienced that in your life as well. I pray for all good things for Moms and Daughters everywhere!
I ask God to bless you with that Girlfriend in your life!
